This site was created in 1997 for promoting self-drive skiing and summer holidays to our apartments in Combloux (hence the name 'bycar.com').
We no longer have those apartments and are revising the site to re-use some contents, and to make use of the underlying software for other purposes. For some topics, much of the content is private to personal friends and family, registered to login.

Combloux

A memoir. We discovered Combloux in 1991, when english voices were very rarely heard in the village. We loved the geography and ambiance of the area, its ease of access by car from England or to other resorts, and the skiing which was quite challenging at that time. Over the years we introduced hundreds of mainly British families to the area, a few of whom bought their own places. We have retained an overview and unique connection to webcams; and aim to add some useful or historical notes and our unique connection to webcams plus experiences that may benefit other owners and prospective owners.
